Rush

Rush is probably the most team oriented game in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. You will play either as defender or attacker. As defender, the primary purpose is to keep the M-Comm stations alive, preferably by denying the opposing team access to them, or by disarming them when they get armed. Secondary is to kill the attacking forces. You will win the game when you have depleted the attacking teams reinforcement tickets.

As attacker, you start out with limited number of reinforcements (popularly called tickets). In order to win the game, you have to destroy the M-Comm stations before your reinforcements runs out. If you destroy both A & B in one base, your teams reinforcement tickets are replenished and you have to destroy the M-Comms in the next base. You will win the game once you have destroyed the last M-Comm in the last base.

Defence

As stated, when you are defending you have to keep the M-Comm stations safe. The best way to do this, is to choke the attacking team, and denying them access to your base. Note that this is not as easy in all bases, and some times you have to cut your losses and try again in a different base. Also keep in mind that you can't win the game by continiously disarming the objective, you have to deplete the attacking team of reinforcement tickets as well.

Also, the attackers can take down the M-Comm station using 2 methods. First one is armed, which is quite obvious. When you hear “Obective X have been armed, we have to defuse that shit” or something similar, you know that one of the objectives have been armed. Also, the armed objective will start blinking on both your HUD and your minimap. When this happens, you have to disarm the objective before it detonates. It is always a good idea to clear the general area around the objective for enemy forces before disarming it, as failing to do so will most likely get you killed.

Attack

As attacker, you have to destroy the M-Comm stations before your reinforcement tickets run out. You can do this by either arming them, and making sure no defenders can disarm it before it detonates, or by damaging it until it is destroyed. In order to damage the M-Comm station, you need explosives, as bullets will not do any damage to it. The most effective way seems to be using C4, but both rocket launchers and mortars do damage the objective. If you are comfortable with using heavy vehicles, you can sit back at a distance and take out the objective with tank shells. However, this requires some practice to learn both safe, and possible, locations on each map, and the approximate aim angle.

The most successful strategy is going in with a tank and a full squad. 2 guys sit in the tank, taking out defenders and making sure the objective stays armed. The two others go in and arm the objective, and afterwards helps keep it armed. Also using microphones will greatly help this process, as then you can tell your squad mates where the enemy forces are located.
