Easy winnings at poker

In Red Dead Redemption you can gamble in various ways. One of the easiest to win is the poker game. You will find a poker table in each salon in the world.

Players

Each poker table consists of two players (three counting your self), where each of them have their unique play style. One is the overly careful player, and the other is the “wild Texan”, who will bet at any hand. The hard part is to get the “Texan” out first, cause his play style is to erratic to gamble at. Just remember that he will usually bet large sums on low end pairs, so if you have two pairs or higher, try to follow him. This player is very unpredictable, as he will bet on the wildest hands, and often substantial amounts. It is generally ill advised to try and bluff against the “wild Texan”, as he will usually call you.

Once you have beat him from the table, only the cautious one is left, and he is the easiest to beat. He usually have two modes:

  1. Good start hand
  2. Nothing

During 1, he will raise before the flop. If he does so, always call him. After the flop, he will either have gotten something, or nothing, so always bet the lowest amount possible if you go first. He will either raise you or fold. If he goes first, he will either check or bet. If he checks, place a bet, and he will fold. He sometimes follows you to the turn, so be sure to continue to bet the lowest amount, given that he does not place a bet first. He will almost exclusively play good hands, so if you follow him after the river, be sure that you actually have a good hand.

During 2, he will usually call if you raise before the flop, but not if you make a large enough raise. Always be sure to raise (unless he raises first), as this will make the game end quicker. Just keep on betting, and you wll eventually take him down. The only part that requires some luck is the final hand, where he will usually go all in on the blinds. However, he is highly predictable, so he should not be hard to take down. It is extremely rare that the cautious player will call after the flop, however if he does, he either have a good hand, or are very likely to get a good hand. Always use caution when he calls you, and remember that he will fold on the lowest bet possible if he has a dead hand.
